Privacy Policy
Summary
Ichi collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your tasks live on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud account — never on our servers.
What Ichi stores on your device
Your tasks — their titles, order, completion state, and any reminder times you set — are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData. Your selected theme and preferences (reminder default time, completion chime) are stored in a local app-group container. This information never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud sync.
iCloud sync
If you are signed into iCloud, Ichi syncs your tasks between your own Apple devices using CloudKit's private database. This data is encrypted by Apple, stored in your personal iCloud account, and we have no access to it. You can turn iCloud off for Ichi at any time in Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.
Reminders
Reminders are optional and off by default. When you set one, Ichi schedules a local notification on your device. Nothing is sent to any server, and Ichi requests notification permission only when you first add a reminder.
Capture from widgets, Share Sheet & Siri
When you add a task from a Home Screen widget, the Share Sheet, or Siri, the text you provide is saved straight into your local task store. It is treated exactly like a task typed in the app and is never transmitted to us.
Purchases
Ichi Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All payment and billing is handled by Apple; we never see your payment details. The app receives only an anonymous flag indicating whether Pro is active, used to unlock cosmetic features.
Third parties
None. Ichi integrates no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party services beyond Apple's own CloudKit and StoreKit, where applicable.
Required-reason API
Ichi accesses UserDefaults solely to store your app preferences and share
them with its own widget and extensions (Apple required-reason code CA92.1).
It is not used for tracking and is declared in the app's privacy manifest.
Children
Ichi is rated 4+. We collect no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the current version will always live at this URL with an updated date above.
